RailWorks constructed a rail spur used for operation of a surface mining operation at the new Friendsville Mine south of Mt. Carmel, Ill. , operated by ALCOA, Inc. and the Vigo Coal Company.

RailWorks constructed the rail spur connecting the new Friendsville Mine with Norfolk Southern, the servicing railroad.

RailWorks constructed 11,306 track feet of ballasted track, installed three turnouts and a Star Track grade crossing and signal system where the spur meets IL Route 15. The project was completed in July 2006.
