Sound Transit's University Link project extended the Central Link light rail link north from downtown to the University of Washington.
L.K. Comstock installed the communications systems for the tunnels and stations for the 3.15-mile light rail extension, including new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), radio systems, optical fiber, emergency telephone, audio and paging, and visual message systems, as well as a new interface with the Sound Transit Operation Control Center.
L.K. Comstock reworked Sound Transit's existing SCADA system and provided new isolated building management, emergency management and SCADA systems.
The new extension opened for revenue service in 2016, improving service reliability and accommodating future Sound Transit LRT expansions.
